The 2023/2024 season will be Xavi's second season as Barcelona coach. Xavi continues to develop the team to appear more competitive next season. Barcelona made a surprise by winning La Liga in the 2022/2023 season. Xavi managed to bring Barcelona to be much more consistent than other rival teams in the league. One of the keys to winning Barca is the quality of a high level of defense. Marc-Andre ter Stegen has appeared solid under the crossbar with the most clean sheets recorded in a Spanish League season. Winning the league in the first season has been an impressive record for Xavi. Even so, last season Barca failed miserably in European competition, thrown from the Champions League to the Europa League, then eliminated.
As a result of failing in European competition last season, Barcelona will set a higher target for next season. Xavi also began to finalize his squad for next season by bringing in a number of new players.
Somehow but I feel Barcelona will really be a strong candidate in the next Champions League. I'm pretty sure Xavi will definitely not be satisfied with just getting the title back at Laliga. He definitely has a much higher target, namely the Champions League. I think the next Champions League will have much more interesting things. In fact, I might even lower my expectations on Real Madrid next season. Because I feel that Real Madrid have yet to find a player who can replace Benzema. So I think Real Madrid might experience a slight setback in the Champions League next season. and it is Barcelona who will probably have a much better advantage in the upcoming Champions League. In fact, I feel that the current squad at Club Barcelona is pretty good. And if there are additional new players, of course it will be much better. But in the transfer market this time it seems that Barcelona is not as aggressive as last season. Which shows that Xavi is quite satisfied with the existing squad. and several additional players were only needed to fill the empty seats left by several Barcelona players who had left.
Should be 2023/2024 a third season for Xavi as Barcelona coach, but I don't really care about how many season, for sure Barcelona are lucky to have Xavi. Xavi the previous season 2022-23 also targeted the UCL title, he signed Lewandowski to strengthen their front line and was successful when they won the La Liga title, but unfortunately failed in the UCL and Europa League. The Barcelona squad under Xavi eadership has become a more solid squad, it's no wonder we have high expectations for Barcelona, but I personally also believe that next season Barcelona will probably be one of the favorite teams in the UCL.
