You don't start earning money (you should say profit) when you start investing in bitcoin. You need to be holding for long term to make any good profit. Gambling and investing is a totally different thing. Invest won't help a gambling addict. In fact it will harm them more. Imagine a gambling addict invested in bitcoin and wants to hold long term. He invests, the price drops and then his urge of gambling kicks in. He would be selling his coins in loss to feed his gambling addiction.
They should be talking to a professional and get their help before making any kind of investment. You must have a sane and healthy mind before you start any kind of investment or make any financial decisions.
