Indeed. Xavi Hernandez actually prefers to have young players, but they seem buy old players in the current transfer window (Ilkay Gündogan, Iñigo Martínez). I think it is because Barcelona is difficult to buy young players, most of top young players are expensive. However, since Xavi Hernandez became the coach of Barcelona, he already improved Barcelona performance significantly.

Xavi prefers double center back in game plan. They have a setup in such a way that when there is a loss in the midfield, the other center back will come directly to the defense center to help. On the offensive side, young players feed Lewandowski with pressing football, which Pedri and Gavi will probably make their national teams happy in the future. Compared to previous seasons, they are in a place to be congratulated. But squad structure was still insufficient for the champions league at the end of the season. The transfers like Ilkay Gundogan made Barcelona definitely better but I am not sure it will be enough. Although, transfering the captain of Manchester City seems quite important at least on the paper.
