Dortmund does not seem too disappointed to fail this season. Their orientation is not always champions, Dortmund are smart in doing football business. They have always done that, selling some star players to Bayern Munich. Maybe strong dominance still belongs to Bayern Munich but looking at Dortmund they have a chance to win the Bundesliga. In fact, it is still quite difficult to guess. Quality players do not guarantee a club the league title.

Although it is true that Bayern Munich has dominated the Bundesliga for a while generalising that all other teams are poor and lack ambition may be oversimplifying the reality. Other teams may step up to the plate as league dynamics change posing severe obstacles to Bayern hegemony. Dortmund strength and potential are still apparent and despite having experienced player exits in the past, they have the means to put together a strong team. As football fans we may anticipate an exciting new season when surprises and upsets may occur potentially indicating the emergence of a new challenger or an ardent comeback from established teams. Accepting the unpredictable nature of the game enhances its allure by enabling us to watch the beautiful game develop in unexpected ways.
