Well that's true and I admit that giving advice cannot always be accepted or listened to but if we continue to do it then over time the person will also realize that what we are saying is true and we are trying to help them get out of the addiction that is rife.

a well disciplined mind can still gamble comfortably without having to chase his or her losses, even in the middle of losses, it all boils down to your main reason for gambling, are you gambling just to have fun or is your reason for gambling is you trying to see if you can make some money in through it?.

For someone whos motive for gambling is to have fun, losses is not a problem is he or she must before engaging in that session consider the money being spent lost, but for that person who is looking to make some profit out of that gambling session, yeah, if the profit aren't coming but you are just losing money, then its good to back off and try again later.

Coupled with a calm heart, it will be more helpful to avoid things that are dangerous or risky, of course.
Now I always thought of gambling as a means to have fun and entertain myself that's why I was able to avoid big losses and addiction because I always had limits.
If we get pleasure and satisfaction then losing money is only seen as payment for pleasure, for example if we buy tickets to see a movie at the cinema, then losing money doesn't feel too burdensome.
