Sometimes those effects like hardships or some unfortunate events doesn't help gamblers to change from their addictions because I've come across cases where some persons become poor due to adverse gambling habits but still decide to take loans from bank or borrow from friends and still gamble not minding the fact that they're in debt, that's how bad the effect from gambling addiction can be on people, persons like this need serious help in some cases, regular visit to a therapist that would be them change gradually.
Knowing when to quit when you've suffered numerous loss if one of the ways gambling responsibly because it won't only help prevent addiction but would also one from spending recklessly,while some people people fall victims of gambling addiction is that they don't know when to pause for a while when they suffer loss having a believe that their next bet would become successful, some people would even come up with wrong slogans that those people that pause or give up are those who lose

Following your statement, indeed there are people who really push their way to continue betting even the amount of money they lose inside gambling is way high from the usual budget, with desperation, instead of stopping those addicted gamblers will find ways to continue to the point that they will be borrowing money, selling their things or even to do illegal things just to please their lust of playing, those kinds of mindsets are already alarming and they needed deeper attentions.

If they are willing to take that therapy with an open arm and a good self-will, chances of stopping or moving away from this kind of addiction is possible, else, they are going to waste time and lot of money and it will result it to nothing at all.
