Easy answer you always pick bitcoin first. Then dive into other stuff. If you watch the markets over the last cycles they are all driven by bitcoin increasing in price. You always want to buy the thing that drives markets not the followers. There is value in some altcoins but it's too risky if you don't have bitcoin yet.

Even if you are prepared for the potential for bigger losses and faster losses because in the end even though you are at alt, even though the profits are bigger, the losses will be bigger than imagined.
bitcoin is always the first choice, it's very good indeed, as for altcoins, if you really don't want to take a bigger risk, then why be there because in the end, bitcoin can really provide returns that are more likely to occur if the comparison is altcoins.
For some beginners, sometimes they always want things that are more instantaneous and high profits but are not too aware of the risks they will face, so referring to this, if you really want to be safer and more comfortable apart from bitcoin, the main thing would be even better if bitcoin is the only option before we really understand the schemes and strategies that must be done for altcoins.
