No, it's no crime, and I think deep down when we post on this forum, we all like to be given merits, but I'm sick of seeing OPs saying things like:

1. I bought X amount of bitcoin and it has changed my life.
2. I convinced my grandfather/my friend/my neighbour to buy bitcoin and it has changed his life.
3. The merit system is wonderful and has made me a lot of progress.
4. This forum is wonderful.
5. <...>

Things like this, which are repeated every day on the forum, and which in many cases are simply made-up stories to gain merit. I'm not saying that you are not sincere, but there is a pattern that repeats itself too much on the forum and I'm sick of it.
