Sevilla needs to start from the bottom again. The club already sold some important players which were affecting the performance of the club. Sevilla deserves more chance to compete with another club in sevilla.

But when you search for the details, their debt seems to be relatively low. It says that they have 90m euros in debt, which I think should still be manageable for them.

Winning trophies doesn't really change that much I think. If you consider the salaries that are being paid to top players, it is almost as if they could pay two or three of their best players with the revenue they made from winning the Europa League. It is a great example that shows how weird everything is when a club can't even ay the players with the money they get from winning trophies.

In recent years, almost in all European leagues, many teams have financial problems and debts. As soon as the big clubs have massive debt they can just go and find a huge investor and they are good to go. But there is also another problem when the most renowned clubs have financial issues. When the authorities were to give penalties, it is also possible that they harm their own national leagues when the best clubs aren't participating in European competitions. It is tough to create a level-playing field and make it more fair. But I would like if they all had to compete under the same conditions, though this is a dream that won't come true. The refinancing potential of the clubs that are already big is so much higher than that of other clubs.

The relation between the success of a club and their cost structure should be stronger. As you said they can't even pay off their costs/debt when a club were to win the Champions League, the domestic league and the stadium would be sold out 100% of the time. It is still by far not enough to pay the salaries, which is weird. No other business with real production factors would work like that. It's all a big fat bubble and the players enjoy it of course.
