For me, it's better that these people ended up in that experience. If loses now come, they will realized that everything is not that easy.

In trading, especially in the bull run, there are lot of people who think they are genious and ended up wrecked during a bear trend.

In gambling, there are lot of people who are also think they are genius but when losing streak starts, they don't know what to do.

And I think the same, while having a negative experience may seem to be a bad thing, at the same time it will teach you that things are not always going to go your way and you will need you adjust your behavior accordingly, but if someone often gets their way this could warp their view of reality and eventually make major mistakes because of it, and unfortunately there are gamblers that went through this and they had to learn this lesson by losing a huge amount of money, a thing which could have been avoided if they were not lucky early on when they gambled.
