The delete option I think is allowed but editing all posts and changing it to just X or anything I think it should be not allowed because if someone finds your tool I'm sure they will take advantage of using it to spam links.

People who perform SEO spam most likely already have their own tool which have capability to edit post, so i wouldn't worry too much about people people misusing OP's script.

Which forum archive you're talking about? At very least, i know https://bitcointalk.org/modlog.php doesn't log post deleted by it's owner.
