Sure, but gambling is full of superstitious behavior. People who who make animals fight for their own amusement, might not be most secular people, pondering ethical questions or practising logical reasoning. It fits that magical thinking would be part of it. Especially when in gambling it's part of people who aren't superstitious otherwise. It's just because we want to win and want to use every possible trick to do it. No matter if it's gods, tarot cards, horoscope, numerology, lucky objects and routines or some sort of compulsive behaviour. None of it rarely makes any sense.

Sometime, some gamblers think and act in some wired manner that make us think that they are part of the third world and 1st world civilization stage because most of the games we see in some remote locations.
