When I saw Girona, I was reminded of Sevilla in the previous 2 seasons who could also compete with Real Madrid. But the question that will always be asked when there is a club like them in the top flight is, will they be able to be consistent until the end of the season or not? Sevilla went through the same thing and still ended up losing second place at the end of the season, as Barcelona improved under Xavi H. We will always assume this until the end of the season and see if they are consistent or not.
I personally hope they can be consistent, so that I can see there are clubs that can provide tough competition not only the 3 clubs that I usually see.
It would be very good and interesting if there was other team than Barcelona, Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid, which could consistently get a lots of points. Yeah, I personally also hope that Girona can continue to be consistent and in the end can get a UCL ticket, at least that's a big target for them. Previously last season we saw Real Sociedad succeeded in securing UCL tickets, it is not impossible that Girona can do it although I'm also not too sure, but is still a possibility for them if their mainstay players not injuries or anything else.
Yes they have the opportunity to be able to secure tickets to go to the Champions League in the following season, but to talk about it, it will still be a very long journey for them, because this is just the beginning and touching half the season yet. One note for them is that they must be able to keep their players in order to maintain their performance and be consistent until the end. Now I see that their squad is uneven, and with that they are prone to losing stability if at any time they have to lose their main players for one reason or another, such as injuries. The coach must be able to rotate players and it must be done now so that they are not confused later.
