Maybe they are still looking at his past glory to hope the he turns out better soon, his first time at Manchester united which happens to be last season, he was able to help them qualify for the champions league so maybe they are thinking that with time he will get better.

But it's not looking like time is all he need, he needs more than time, strategy and a better tactical formation. Ten hag also needs to develop a very cordial relationship with his players as it seems like there isn't any. Its looking like some of the players are yet to properly get along with him and it's reflected in their performance, maybe by January he could opt to further get some more players whom can him achieve the desired results and he needs consistency with his tactics and strategy aswell not introducing a new one for every match , somehow Manchester may need an overhaul.

Of a truth, Erik Ten Hag hasn't been impressive with his results for the Manchester United team since the start of the season and that's why majority of the club fans across the globe are asking for the sacking of the Dutchman.
Manchester United management board are adamant of sacking the manager at the moment but I don't think the club will still keep faith with the club manager if the team continues to suffer defeats in subsequent time. So if Ten Hag really wants to remain as the club he must improve the team's performance and results with his tactical approach.
