Today Rauf produced the most expensive spell in the WC for Pakistan and after a few minutes Shaheen took him over. The latter is the leading wicket taker for Pakistan in the current world cup but has virtually zero impact.

Rauf is not suited for ODI format, he more of T20 bowler as it is not possible for him to bowl 10 overs constantly with same pace. After this World Cup, I think Pakistan should force their bowlers to play at the domestic level and bowl those longer spells. This is the only way they can compete in the ODI. Currently, Pakistan bowlers are bowling more of a T20 spell. They are not going for wickets, they are just trying to finish their overs. They also have to work on their line and length. I think Naseem was Pakistan's only bowler who could bowl anywhere in an ODI match. Pakistan should look for specialist spinners and groom Abrar because these spin-bowling all-rounders are not a good option in the ODI.
