My questions are :
Do you think it's worth the wait, he's getting 6% interest per annum but he still has to pay a lot of money and suffers a lot even to the point of having a rift with his daughter
Will you do the same thing and fight for your rights to claim the prize
$217k is not a small amount of money in the US not to mention the Philippines, so I believe the wait and the effort given to it are all worth it. This is an example of a determined heart to get justice and it's justifiable since what he pursued justice for is worth it. For the daughter, it's a mere familiar issue which will easily get resolved and I am sure with the final result, the daughter would be very proud and happy for her father.

However, the only painful part is the value of the money which would have greatly decreased over the course of the legal battle. The 6% annual interest is nothing that can quantify the decreased value of the money due to inflation in the country within the past 9 years.

Still huge if you are in Philippines or even if you are in US since you can buy a lot of things with that amount. Also good thing that the winner got his prize and this totally paid all the efforts they do just to get that money. This show if the person is eager to get something that he really deserve they can get the money especially if there's relevance on their claims. For sure that it is since imagine fighting for 9 years to get the reward for sure his daughter is proud for what his father achieve since they totally made a lot of effort to get it.

But for sure the winner doesn't care about the timespan but he's surely happy what the present bring since he knows enjoy the money he won and for sure that's more important thing for them at the moment.
Really still a significant amount of money on which it would really be just that right that you should really be fighting for it no matter how long it would take. It is really that needing to have that  financial capacity on doing so considering legal actions and other document expenses is something that not cheap. As i have read up that the winner did make some selling off some of his properties
just to have this kind of legal fight and its good to see that it did really paid off. The amount that we are talking is really something significant on which even if you do live
on 1st world then it would be still a considerable amount but not really something that humongous into those 1st world countries.

Now that he do able to get those winnings then its time to for him to repay those debts that he had acquired along the process on which i dont see for it to be
affecting that much in overall winning that he has and even himself do knows about it and this is why he do took up the risks.

The reason is this;

not released due to a his partially burned ticket

The problem was his granddaughter crumpled his winning ticket.

It is really that a bit confusing basing up on the situation of the ticket whether its been crumpled or partially burned. This is why it is really that hard to believe
whenever the report or these articles giving those precise information.

Basing up on lottery guidelines and rules then it would really be that your responsibility on handling those tickets with care.
If it turns out that it is burned or been folded despite of those reminders then good thing that Supreme court did really reconsider out and demand
that sweepstakes organizer to give the winnings.

Lucky for the winner that supreme court sided on him, as there's always corresponding rules and by reading that argument it can be use against the bettors, but the decision is the final venue and there's nothing that the organizers can do now., they got the resources and venue but now they need to comply and released that winning amount and let the lucky bettor enjoy the delayed money which he's entitled to enjoy. With all the wait vested, this lucky winner can now enjoy his million peso winnings.
