This is not a good omen, because a well structure and business activities website cannot closed down for days because people will loss funds and also the company itself will loss funds plus customers. So for a mixing company to close the site down because of website maintenance is not a good thing at all. And if they want to go into a long time maintenance then they have to give pre-information so that those who have business with them will know what to do and not this sudden maintenance for days.

Well, isn't this statement of theirs just that, a notification that they are starting work on the service? I believe they are also aware that if they are offline, will not be able to work and will not make a profit.

We don't know what kind of update it is. For example, maybe it's a security patch, when it comes to such things, it has to be solved completely, not partially or only for a few seconds.
