Actually Napoli at the beginning of this season did appear promising well enough that did looked like they will be able to defend the league title as the defending champions by the end of this season, they were even amongst the top four teams and we're few points from the top, even in the UCL they were doing great too.

The recent decline in Napoli which started after their internal crisis starting with that with osimhen down to the issues with their coach which which led to the changing of their Coach. Napoli after the change of coach won a match or two which made it look like they were improving until now they seem to have gone back to their formal form, hopefully they finish top four but then they still have the UCL to play so the pressure is quite much on them, if they are able to finish top four in the serie A they have done well but I doubt they will be able to defend the league title.
