You are very much acquainted with the topic under discussion. There are some kind of casual gamblers who do not take gambling as a source of income, rather they just have some fun and try their luck with some spare cash with them. But there is another set of people, who claim that they are professional gamblers(if such a word exists). This people are heavily involved in gambling as they take it as a business, which means they will need to re-evaluate themselves whether they are making profits or losses on the long run. These set of people are the ones that are easy addicted. They have the ability to chase losses to the later.

The advice of having weekly, bi-weekly or monthly gambling budget is strictly for these set serious gamblers and unfortunately these people do not have gambling budgets and if they do they do not obey it.

The safe thing is that we must be able to manage which assets are used as household necessities and which we can use as we please. There are also people who do not have responsibilities as family, or catering for other people and it is this set of people that enjoy gambling the most in as much as they earn and have a steady source of income. The problem a family man will have if he does not handle his gambling very well will be doubled compare to the one a single man without family responsibilities will have.
