mate you are also Right from your point of view. How can a person follow any suggestions and control themselves when they are already addicted due to they can't control them at all, right?? Actually it is you, who is responsible for everything in your life. A gambler may out of control but i believe, sometimes some good suggestions may change their lifestyle if he can follow cause that can help him to recover, get out of addiction. But totally depends on how you discipline yourself, which is called self-exclusion. When maturity come in you and when you realised that, gambling isn't a process which would develop your long term economic condition, then your mentality will automatically avoid gambling. Sometimes your mind may allow you a small amount for gambling, that's me. Honestly I'm the one who was get addicted but when i realized those matter i mentioned, i can easily get out of it. Why should anyone keep doing a thing that won't be profitable for him!

A gambling addict will of course never be able to control himself because once control has been established then he cannot be said to be an addict, and of course they cannot possibly follow other people advice or input before the awareness arises to be able to recover.
Desire is one way to start gambling addict applying some effort and following other people suggestions and advice, desire in the sense of wanting to be able to recover and be free from addiction problems that may have left someone in quite bad condition.
But actually all of this is not about maturity because when we talk about maturity, many gamblers who are adults still fail to have better attitude in gambling.
I myself think that true success depends on the mindset, when gambling addict has the right mindset and the will to recover, they will slowly try on their own and look for various ways to cure the disease of addiction that they are experiencing.
Moreover, gambling addiction affects many things within person, such as psychology and it is clear that psychology has series of relationships with mental, thought patterns and behavioral attitudes.
Look at those who have become truly crazy gambling addicts who are more like people who have no common sense because they do anything for satisfaction and ambition to be able to carry out activities excessively which is actually very detrimental to themselves.
I know that gambling is not completely detrimental and has negative impact because on the other hand there is still positive side to gambling activities, but it all depends on each gambler himself.

That's true, they will not receive advice or input from other people even if the advice is from family and friends, if they themselves do not have awareness of what they do is wrong then the possibility they will not be aware. As you said they must have the desire to recover from addiction so if they already have such a desire, the possibility of they can only receive advice from others and they can receive the input or suggestions to help them leave addictive that has made him in a bad situation Obviously it harmed them. And people who are addicted to gambling, of course, they have problems with their thoughts, their common sense has been lost because of misinterpreting gambling.
