It will be great if United Arab Emirates can win the series against Afghanistan. As of now, the T20I series is tied at 1-1, and if UAE wins today then they will carry the series by a margin of 2-1. But then we have to remember that the Afghan squad is a second string XI, which doesn't have superstars such as Rashid Khan and Mujeeb ur Rahman. So a win is not something like earth shattering for the UAE. Also, at some point they need to have native players in their squad. If they want to apply for test status, then the application won't be considered as long as they have a 100% foreigner squad.

The UAE won't be working on having a test-play status. The UAE has more resources, and part of that is that the government is trying to widen the sporting network. In previous matches, the team to bat first won the match. In this match, the same can happen, and the winning probability for Afghanistan is close to 85%, which is a big difference, and Afghanistan playing with its second string is a wise decision to find the right players and keep them prepared for the primary string of players. Whichever team bats first needs to score at least 160-180 runs to make the match more interesting.
