It cannot be denied that Mbappe's influence is quite big for PSG and if Mbappe leaves in the transfer this January then I am very sure that PSG's progress in the UCL will not be long.
However even though Mbappe is still surviving doesn't mean he will be able to lift this team's performance alone, I think PSG is not worthy of becoming UCL champions this season because we have to look at the strength of the team as a whole and PSG does not deserve that, especially this season their performance is very good inconsistent.

It is just so unfortunate how a team will build their success around one player only. Mbappe is the strategic and dependent player in PSG that everyone is looking up to. If he is not in the game, the morale become weak and they don’t do well in those matches. Overall, including Mbappe in the squad, PSG is not a team that is performing well now and their participation in the Champions League competition won’t go that far because of their poor performance in the competition. If Mbappe leaves, it will even become worse for them to cope in the competition. PSG of before is no more, the team is going down now in European competitions, hopefully they can be back to their winning ways again soon.

Since Mbappe is not in form this season, PSG are finding it difficult to win their matches. I believe that PSG will get to the quarter-final of the uefa champions league because I see PSG beating Real Sociedad in the round of 16.
