Nepotism Na simply when men wey dey in power or position favour their people over the general interest of Nigerians, Nepotism Na weitin we dey call MAN KNOW MAN, like we all know say this country even as work no dey e get people wey dey get work steady, most of them self even when them still dey University them done secure work for them bcos there person dey in power or authority,
Nepotism fit cause plenty damages for the work force of any country, because the  employment Na by who you Sabi and no be by waiting you fit do, most times the relatives wey dem give the job no know anything concerning the work but because they just want am to chop money them employ am,

Some of the effects of NEPOTISM they down
1. E dey reduce the work performance with unqualified employees wey no get that job experience at all.
2. E dey make the country relatively unproductive in some areas for the economy
3. E dey make people wey actually know the work well not to get job, so e dey lead to unemployment most times.

Nepotism no suppose dey any country, bcos some jobs need required skills and specialties no be by man know man,

Great topic OP,as this matter dey very rampant for our Africa countries, nigeria inclusive.and na one area wey no go fit go way unfurnately, but as oyibo man go talk, there are always two side to a coin.e get pros and cons. And at some point of our life we don benefit from this form of favour before. E get popular saying wey say "person wey him brother dey heaven no dey go hell fire."so there would always be this firm of favour in the society, but it should not come at the detriment of competence,If am in a position and I have a brother who is qualified to carry out a task,I will employ him if it is not against the ethic of the company provided he can deliver on that job.the highest hight of Nepotism is mostly found in public parastatals, the private sector rare have such.An incident happened years ago in shell,a senior shell staff who is a residing pastor of a church branch offerd one of his church member job in shell, after some time that shell staff moved to NLNG in Bonny as a supervisor, and something happened in shell in porthacourt involving that guy he gave employment,na so investigation started, and they later found out that the guy he employed, thou have all the qualifications, but did not pass true due process of employment, that cost this supervisor his job in Bonny(because na shell dey manage NLNG)

so me as a person I am not against favouring a freind or a brother for something,But there must be 101%chance that person deserves that role,so in an event of issues it can be defended.
