They need to stay away from places where they often gamble and delete all the websites they usually play on. Keep your mind busy, or find another game to forget about gambling. It would be great if there were relatives or friends to support and help them during this period. As long as they have determination, I believe they can do it.

Even though self-exclusion from gambling websites and even from the locations where people typically bet can be simple, I believe it's a useful strategy for avoiding any gambling-related activities. This can assist people who are addicted to gambling in building a barrier and restricting their gaming opportunities, like setting their limits and voluntarily banning themselves from participating in gambling. I agree with the idea that we can seek out or reach out to our family and friends who can provide us with emotional support and understanding, as they are the only ones who can easily discourage us in order for us to stop that kind of habit. (if blood can be thicker than water).

What are the other low cost but very effective solutions to gambling addiction. And typically how long will it take before the addict starts to feel more in control and less withdrawal symptoms?
Will totally appreciate your responses. Thanks.

Taking up alternative activities that can bring us greater happiness and fulfillment than gambling, such as spending time with our loved ones, exercising, or picking up new hobbies that can help us escape from our addiction and unwind, is something else we can think about when trying to overcome our gambling addiction. The reason for this is that if someone's goal is to get over a habit of gambling, they ought to understand the importance of self-care and act responsibly (if they have changed). Actually, it takes a lot of time, so if you want to avoid returning to your pre-gambling addiction state, you should learn how to stop yourself and have patience with yourself.
