The problem with this "controlling" ourselves when gambling is that it's hard to do because gambling is a fun activity to do and it's difficult to let go of something that is genuinely giving you pleasure or fun. That financial losses part, I think that most of the people that's gambling knows that from the start, there's no way that you're being introduced to gambling that you're too naive to not know that the possibility of huge financial losses is just too high when you're gambling, I refuse to believe that there's no way that they didn't know that or known about it halfway, they're lying definitely. Gambling isn't designed to make you win, you're not supposed to win big because the gambling businesses want to get your money.
