The duo of Jota and Nunez had their names in the goals.
I had said some weeks back that Liverpool's attacking players had to step up in the absence of Mo Salah due to AFCON duties, and that is what they did today, a brace for both Jota and Nunez, and i am pretty sure the manager will be delighted, because Salah has also picked up an injury in the AFCON, and this will extend his absence from the first team.
Having said that, with this win Liverpool extend their lead at the summit to five points, though City in second place have a game in hand. It is so tight at the top of the table, and we are set for another entertaining title race, Liverpool lead right now but we all know how good City are at chasing down teams at the top the table, i can't wait to see how this one pans out.
Exactly, it will be an advantage for Liverpool and manager Kloop to have these 2 players take the scoring burden in Salah's absence.Liverpool have a really good squad and are currently leading the table. They are one of the biggest candidates for the title this season and of course some of the players of such teams will be injured, but the chance to compensate for this with the substitutes will depend on the transfers made and more on the substitutes or other players showing their superior skills.
I don't think Liverpool will give the title away easily so things will have to go completely wrong for them if that's going to happen.Although City are a step above Liverpool in terms of tactics and squad, it's a team game and whoever plays better as a team wins.
