To defend OP, Pound has been bleeding against the Dollar for more than 10 years. It used to be worth $2 and now it's only $1.27, so it looks like it continues to weaken and the historical bottom is somewhere at 1.2 USD. If we fall below this it's going to look bad.
Anyway, all fiat currencies look weak and with BRICS I just don't see how USA could take over the world with their currency. IMO Dollar is at its global peak and can either hold the status or weaken and there are countries actively working to do the latter.
