I watched a lot of interviews with players who smilingly talked about how they lost for months, losing almost everything in their lives. Starting from the apartment and ending with the trust of loved ones - which I consider in each case the most expensive loss. So, these people then got a very big win, and often it was so big that it would be possible to return all the material goods sold. But these ludomaniacs did not fix this profit. And they played on and lost.

That shows that these people deserved the most expensive loss which is the losing of the house and beloved ones as nothing replaces them. The fact that even with that huge win that could replace the loss these guys continue to play showing that they care about nothing except gambling means that they deserve such huge loss.If they were good persons they would immediately fix their errors with this big, huge win rather than to lose it all again for a second time.
No one deserves to lose that much, we all make mistake and what will matter is to learn from it. Those people who give their testimonies of what happened in their career as gamblers. They simply want no other people to do the same thing which I think  why it would be bad hating them as if they did not regret what happened. People grow in many ways. Let us not be toxic of anyone's past. They have their own reasons of why they did it by that time and we are no one to question it. Focus on why they confessed than checking what they regret. It is just regret which comes last. Just learn from what they preach. If you're smarter and better than them then learn from what they are saying. No hate tho'

Stories like this should serve as lessons for others but it doesn't. It is very pathetic when a gambler loses everything to gambling and then gets a big win and instead of gambling wisely due to experience, he allows himself to still fall for the urge and lose everything again.

Well, this is not the case with everyone. And this exception accounts for why gambling is indeed a hope restorer. Some people prioritize investment over continuous gambling when they win. This control if possible should be imbibed in every gambler as it will go a long way to check reckless gambling whether win or not.
It's just easy to talk and all not unless you are in their position for that very moment. I also experienced greed before nd I will tell you that once you are eaten by greed, you will be unconscious of possible consequences or will be unaware of what you are doing whether if it is still rational or you are just being careless of things. Such thing is no longer new especially in gambling industry. Many people have lost both money and their 'life' as well. So if you are not yet still on their shoes then just reflect and avoid doing so, now that you've learned of the worst possible ending if ever you will allow yourself to be addicted into this activity.
