If we can adjust well then yes it can be done, more on your self reflection and how to find the best adjustment that will work for your attitude towards gambling, like what I've said, re-evaluate yourself and think about that previous mistake in order for you to bring the right strategy when you think that you are ready again to play the game, though not all can do that and will just repeat the same mistake and the sure thing is it will affect his attitude and his behavior especially when the person is on the losing streak.
That's why we must introspect ourselves related to our gambling activity to check what we have done and fix the mistake that we made. With realizing what the mistakes can make us become better gamblers that is not just chase the win or recover the lost, but we will just playing gambling without excessively. We know the consequences of gambling excessively that can change our behaviour and breaking the rule and limits that we made before. We don't want to get more trouble because of gambling excessively and will try to use gambling as an entertainment.
Only the people closest to him will judge that he has experienced a change in his behavior so far and perhaps the people closest to him will try to advise the gambler so that he tries to be patient and aware of the mistakes he has made before. and if gamblers can receive advice from other people then they will learn to introspect themselves so that in the future they can behave well again.
His closest people can realize his change in his behavior but without an openness and admitting from the gambler, they can't ask or getting close to him. They could only watch from far and wait for the gambler's reaction. If the gambler doesn't say anything, they will still watch out but sometimes they will ask the gambler if everything is okay or not. I guess his closest people will react based on the situation and if necessary, they can try to getting close and talk to the gambler to find out for more. They hope the gambler can receive advice from them and try to introspect himself.
