I also observed same thing after Girona's loss to Real Madrid their form have been decreasing in almost every of their matches since then but I don't actually blame them because that huge loss to Real Madrid cost Girona a lot because that loss killed their team spirit and their morale to remain resilient as Real Madrid keeps on winning matches and doesn't want to give Girona any chance of topping the table again so I just saw it that Girona lost their confidence.
I never have a single confidence in Girona ever since they started that run to occupy the first place in Laliga table, too real for a team that dont finish in Europa league or even the conference Europa League only to stay at the top of the league. They had a nice run of the first round of the Laliga but it seems the second round is a big hiccup in their throat, if not that Barcelona lose their last game it was the best time for them to take that chance and become the second place to go challenge Real Madrid.
However, Girona seems to have lost the fight to own the la Liga trophy this season so what they need do is to try and maintain the top four positions so that they would qualify for champions league next season, i think that would be the only huge achievement for them this season but as for the league title, they've kissed it goodbye because Real Madrid is not gonna take chances anymore and moreover, they are topping the league table by 7 points already so the ball is actually in their court and they have more advantage to claim the title due to the fact that some of their players that went on injury are now back on their feet to strengthen the squad further.
Girona was having a single loss and that is why they were able to stay at the top slightly ahead of Real Madrid but the moment Real Madrid won them, they have lost additional two matches to that one and now 7 points is not something easy to see right now. Real Madrid has to lose two matches and draw one and Girona has to win 3 in a row to get to where they are. They are lucky to be going for Champions League but this trophy isn't for them this season.
