I think that we are really lucky in US to not have punitive taxation yet, but at some point it may come, in one way or another.
Deficit growth is currently unsustainable and, I believe, bipartisan measures, including higher taxes and maybe even some reduction in entitlements (despite protestations to the contrary), will be taken to at least cut it down.

OK, my point was made, I will comply with your request from here on.

My larger point is that the ride will be very bumpy ahead. Buckle up.
