This where addiction always start at the cost of trying to regain what we have lost we often sink down into addiction which is might be very hard to control in the future so that best to is to set a restriction to myself to limit gambling for the moment till otherwise if not I don't see any good reason to continue gambling when you are on lose. Over time people fails to understand it rather will always engaged themselves into gambling the more thinking continuously gambling will increase their chances of making winning in time to come since they don't consider their lost rather would say when they win their lost will be covered from their winning.
