I think this is a very very long way of saying "we can't afford to buy Mbappe". I mean they would love to have him, and the only thing standing between them and Mbappe is not money, because they may offer even more than Madrid and still lose out on him, but lets assume that they could just spend the same amount and get him, somehow convince him to play in this dysfunctional team, they still look like they can't afford him. This is why I think they are going to go with "growing their own talent" route, which means just not spending all that much money. I hope that they will do fine and better, I just don't think that it will be easy to find young stars that they could grow themselves, that isn't cheap neither and also takes time.
