The reason why Manchester United is inconsistent is because many of their players are injured, making it difficult for coaches to rotating players. Manchester United's defensive line was really inconsistent because they had to lose several important players in the squad. Manchester United and Tottenham will fight to finish in fourth place but they must chase points from Aston Villa.
Tottenham has the opportunity to catch up because currently they are only three points behind Aston Villa, while Manchester United has a slightly further distance, so it will be quite difficult for them to qualify for the Champions League zone.

Manchester United should abolish any thought of qualifying for next season champions league. They Haven't really played that well this campaign to deserve a top 4 finish. Besides Aston Villa and Tottenham will stand as a hindrance. If they can secure an Europa league finish it is a good season for them. It will be much more better if they can also get to the FA cup final and eventually win it. The coach should prioritize winning the FA cup and Europa league spot, over a top 4 finish. I can bet on Tottenham that they will finish in the top 4. If they can find that their early season form, they will dislodge Aston Villa from the top 4.

It is very difficult for Manchester United to get into the top 4 places. Considering the tough rivals in the Premier League along with the point difference, I think it would be better for the league to fight to get to the European league. They had some good games against the best teams in the league, but considering the poor performance in the UCL this year, it was not the year they wanted at all.

It says Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be considering Ten Hag future after end of this season because if Ten Hag unable to bringing Manchester United to finish at champion league zone after this season ended then most likely Manchester United will be sacked Ten Hag but indeed to reach at top 4 is quite hard for Manchester United especially their conditions is not good after losing several players who got injured besides that their contender conditions Tottenham and Aston Villa is more good and stable compared to them and Manchester United schedules for the next 10 matches in Premier league will be so hard because after playing against Brentford then Manchester United have to facing Chelsea and Liverpool

But Manchester United still have any chances to gets the trophy from other competition because next month they will playing at Semifinal of FA Cup against Coventry City and on the paper this should be easy match for Manchester United because Coventry City is the team from Championship division which from squad quality is below to Manchester United and assuming Manchester United can qualified then Manchester United will facing the winner of match between Chelsea vs Manchester City at the final match and although it's hard but Ten Hag is very confident he can bringing Manchester United to gets the trophy from this competition
