There is a little difference between Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund as the latter has to justify any decisions they make as they are listed on a stock exchange. I don't know how exactly that has an impact on the decisions the club makes, but I believe that Dortmund has less scope for taking risk and making errors. Leverkusen, however, can take some more risk I would assume, but they are in the same position eventually. If a club comes around and says they will pay 120 million for Wirtz, can a club like Leverkusen really resists? I don't think they can.

We are both saying similar thing here as there is no level of risk that Leverkusen would want to take that it will include refusing such a lump sum amount of £120 for a single player like Florian Wirtz or Victor Boniface, obvious such money can go a very long way to meeting a lot of financial needs of the club, and definitely big clubs in Europe such as PSG, Manchester City, Manchester united, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea etc, will come with different enticing prices which the highest bidder will seize the day, we have seen it happen with many clubs so therefore Leverkusen wouldn't be of any much different.

Another sidelines that could affect the club is Alonso's decision at the end of the season to actually settle with Leverkusen for an extra season or not, because as it stands now some big clubs are requesting for his coaching service, and if he stays or not, that's decision alone can influence many of the players decision about their future in Leverkusen against next season.
