In the Eastern and Southern part of Nigeria, when a woman loses her husband, she is made to mourn for 6 months and wear either a white cloth or black cloth called a mourning cloth. In this period she is restricted and almost monitored and her hair gets shaved.

Even if she gets married after a year of losing her husband, tongues will wag and all manner of things will be said. But on the other hand, some men even get married 6 months after losing their wives and they are not restricted or expected to perform any ritual.  What is your take on this?
