I wasn't expecting both of them to be eliminated honestly. Instead my expectation was like they would advance but Real Madrid would stay out.

The quarter finals were really full of surprises.
Real Madrid are in comfortable condition in the La Liga now. The point gap with Barcelona is eight now and there is an El Clasico at Santiago Bernabeu in three days as well. If Real Madrid win this crucial game they are obviously the champions which is what I expect to happen. Even if it ends up with a draw they should still be okay with winning the title. Barcelona just woke up very late in the league and it is too difficult for them to re-enter the race.

You're right, I thought the same thing about Barcelona and Atlеtico, and was almost sure that City would be able to beat them. But it’s not for nothing that Real are leading in La Liga, they show that the team is now very strong and deserves the semi-finals of the Champions League and deserves to be the leader in La Liga.
For Barcelona, all that remains is to simply play out the remaining matches and wait for a change of coach, for Atlеtico, the task is a little more difficult, but now that they can fully concentrate on La Liga, I think that it will not be difficult for them to stay in the top 4. So unexpectedly, out of three Spanish teams, only one reached the semi-finals.
