I don't know if it's just me, but whenever you hear the word "cryptocurrency" the first thing that will come to somebody's mind will be "Bitcoin". I mean maybe it's also because of the fact that it's the first cryptocurrency that's been created (excluded the ones that have created by some cypherpunks many decades ago).

Bitcoin became so popular because it has been already attached to the term cryptocurrency. Aside from that, it's also the top coin when you look at websites like Coingecko and Coinmarketcap. When somebody wants to promote cryptocurrency, the first thing that they will promote might be Bitcoin. Whenever somebody talks about cryptocurrency, Bitcoin is the first thing that comes to their mind. Of course, let's also include the fact that scammers also used Bitcoin to scam people hence, it also increased its popularity in a bad way though.

Yeah that tells the whole since this is what all people think about that. But sometimes I want bitcoin to be separated if cryptocurrency called it will be named on those altcoins in the market since sometimes bitcoin got stain on its reputation from other people who don't really have a knowledge and they always relate those scamming happened on other altcoins since what they think its the same with bitcoin since that's what they understand about crypto.

Also bitcoin is always projected on any media that's why it gain a lot of popularity. But we can't also disclose that there are also other more altcoins are so popular since ETH and other altcoins in the market is gaining its fame for long time. Maybe those people are only focus to see a bitcoin advertisement but they didn't even see the wider picture about what's happening on altcoin scene.
