May not be a full scale invasion. But a proxy war is quite possible. Perhaps the Americans can arm the Chechens and other Muslim groups, just like what they did in Afghanistan during the 1980s.

Neo-imperialist Democrat and neo-conservative Republican Americans (via certain unaccountable agencies) were arming Chechens, or at least looking the other way while their Arab friends did.

After Beslan, they were put on the back foot and sane Americans helped root out the terrorists.

Now those same villains are playing the "go ahead Putin, pick up the gun" game in Eastern Europe, while we should be working together to strengthen western civilization against the crazies.
