Keeping records of pushups and workouts generally is very important, I'll help you to monitor your growth and encourage you to increase the number of workouts. Without counting the number of pushups, it can make you to become sluggish and no physical motivation to push harder. Counting and keeping records have helped me tremendously, not to be lazy, but try and beat my previous records, although it's not easy.
