For those that are interested, freebitco.in PR has posted an
update explaining the reasons why there are problems on their website. They stated there is a backlog of mails and they are addressing the issue therefore at least they have alleviated concerns that this could have been heading towards an exit-scam.
I presume whether the signature campaign manages to become active again or not would depend on several factors but their announcement would probably bring confidence to people using their website.
freebitco.in PR has made a clarification as I quoted below - but their trust page will still be a cause for concern among new and existing users who want to deposit money. Until all the problems are resolved properly - I guess the red tag will remain on as a warning to anyone who wants to deposit money.

The signature campaign will likely continue if Hhampuz feels everything is safe without too many concerns among users. After many long term campaign stopped promoting their project on forum - then I don't expect freebitcoin to be the latest because of the case. Things seem to be getting under control so far - but maybe not everything.
