This is not the first Chelsea gave a long contract duration, before that Chelsea also gave 5 years contract duration to Graham Potter, but Chelsea sacked him even though he wasn't reach a year. So, Chelsea can sack him whenever they want.

It's a mistake for Chelsea to sack Pochettino and hire Maresca, did they not see Maresca was the one who make Palma Calcio 1913 relegated from Serie A to Serie B? perhaps this is what Chelsea wants, they want Chelsea to relegated from Premier League.

I think everyone really understands how Chelsea management works, they really like to fire managers and be impatient, Pochettino is just the umpteenth coach who feels this. Even though Pochettino has shown clear signs of progress by finishing in 6th place in the standings, for the management and club officials, that is not enough to satisfy them.

From a business perspective, Chelsea failure to finish in the top four of the standings was one of the factors in Pochettino dismissal, because they had spent large amounts of money shopping for players in the transfer window, and hoped to get tickets to the Champions League. However, Pochettino cannot be completely blamed, as most of his squad suffered successive injuries.

On the other hand, I also think that Enzo Maresca fate could end up the same as Pochettino, the long-term contract given to him does not guarantee anything, where Chelsea management only sees trophies as a benchmark. However, it is possible that Enzo Maresca can improve Chelsea performance next season and present Chelsea with a trophy in his first season.
