Finishing outside of the top four shouldn't be a failure for Newcastle this season with the circumstance of injuries, the ban on Tonali also took impact on the balance in midfield.

These are all excuses, what's the difference between Erik Ten Hag and Eddie Howe then? Erik Ten Hag also played beautiful football in his first season for Manchester United but was able to win two trophies in his first two seasons and playing three finals.
