Alison has been in Liverpool since 2018 with an active contract set to expire by 2027, he should know that by that time he will be 34 years old and I'm not sure if there is going to be a serious team that will want to have him. It's either Liverpool let him go and continue his career and use Kelleher since he is young, he would probably bring nothing by then, it's better they sell him while it's still hot and opportunity to buy new players since they are going to have a new coach.
Sometimes it’s not about how much you get from a player like Allison, many clubs lose players like this for free without having to be bother about losing money from selling because of the money experiences they usually offer example is Toni Kroos and Marco Reus.
