It's quite surprising how English premier league teams end up disappointing us when it comes to competing in the champions league year in year out for several seasons now. The premier league has proven itself to be the most outstanding league among the top leagues in Europe. Couches, players and fans from various leagues talk about how competitive and difficult the Premier league is but they usually failed to prove their worth in the champions league. Apart from Manchester city who's been proven otherwise in the competition, the rest of the teams play like an underdog when they meet teams outside premier league. It's a new season and every team is on the run to improve their performance, let see how their performance will be this coming season.

Bayern Munich have a great history with 6 titles here. Leverkusen have only 1 runner-up season and that's all. They have a great momentum recently but experience plays a really important role in the Champions League. I don't think Leverkusen will do better than them honestly but it is just my opinion.

This can not be denied! Experience plays a greater role as far as champions league is concern, it's what Madrid has been banking upon all this while. I know the quality of team squad and their performance also matters but UCL is not just like domestic league where you meet with your opponents on weekly basis. Participating in the league for several years and winning on several occasions has given Madrid require experience in the champions league which put them ahead of other teams. Leverkusen is presently on a good run but they actually don't have experience compared to their counterpart Munich when it comes to UCL competition.
