No one would believe that Leverkusen will be defeated by Atalanta be ause of their outstanding performance in all their matches. But after the match when I checked head to head of Atalanta and Leverkusen clashes, I found out that it was not a match that one can just give Leverkusen the win. This is because Atalanta have only won Leverkusen twice and Leverkusen also won them twice in their last five matches.
This shows that Atalanta from onset was a strong amd difficult team for Leverkusen to win,and that came into play on the final day. Will I say that Xabi did not prepare properly or what he saw on the pitch was bigger than him, which made it impossible for him to come up with any strategy to outsmart Atalanta game pattern.
The defeat to Atlanta is of course Alonso biggest disappointment this season after he failed to extend his unbeaten record and also won 3 trophies at once, Leverkusen performance this season is very surprising to all of us, ability, consistency, and also making a comeback of course which is the main reason they were able to reach 51 unbeaten matches in all competitions, Leverkusen before may have been just a club that did not count in football competition Especially the Bundesliga, but the arrival of Xabi, who is able to build and lift Leverkusen performance this season, of course, makes big teams start to consider Leverkusen as an opponent to watch out for next season.
