If you read his retirement announcement post on Instagram you will comprehend why he is retiring now. He said he wants it retire when he is at the peak of his career which means he wants to leave when the ovation is high. I think his decision is highly commendable and I respect him for that. He doesn't want to be a liability or at the mercy of any club. And he should be given accolades because he is not money-conscious. He had been offered a new contract and would have easily gotten a better deal in the US or Saudi Arabia but he chose to hang his boot. Everything is not money, maybe he wants to spend more time with his family and invest time in the things that give him pleasure.

Arne Slot brought the best out of Feyenoord while he was the coach. The Dutch club won some domestic trophies and was close to winning a continent cup but they lost in the finals.
