He is the type of person that makes it quite difficult for players to like or even more importantly respect him. If he keeps on blaming the issue on the players, then how could we really end up with anything that would benefit the team?
Imagine a whole squad of players who doesn't respect the manager, could that team be even any good? No idea why they kept him around, just because he won the FA cup doesn't mean that he is a good manager, it just means that this team could have done even better if he wasn't around, but barely got FA cup because he sucks. In any case, I hope that they do better this season and he stops blaming players.
Good communication and interaction with the players will help alot, because he will gain their respect him he gives the players listening hears, he will make them be free and come up with some ideas that he might pick something good from. There is nothing bad listening and he sees that he does not the idea, he will not take to it.
Ten Hag needs to know that being the manager of a club does not mean that his job is only to coach but he is to also make sure that he is open minded to the team to buy their loyalty and respect.
