Barely or not there are people who struggled to their last drop of sweat and still didn't make it in changing their life for the better. If life changing was mainly an issue of struggling hard then many of the truck.pushers and menial job workers would have been the most rich people on our planet but it's not. Another is that, we can still try to imbibe the steps taken by those we know to be rich today and we may still not grow rich as they did maybe because we just haven't discovered our own path to success and their own path doesn't lead to ours.

Working hard and struggling much is encouraged because it can always guarantee a meal right before you but I don't think if you'll get you anywhere above your standard if you're without the right circle, right informations and updates and connections s these are the variables that drives the world today than any other social factor.

Having the right network definitely helps, but IMO that is not everything. Many people regardless of their blue collar statuses have been able to make their hard work a means to better lives. What is happening now is that industries are changing, and skills are becoming the most key factor toward opportunities. You notice it, for one thing, in the way large companies like Amazon and McDonald's are reskilling staff rather than looking merely at the degree and connection aspects.

Of course, luck and good timing play a part. Access to continuous learning and industry changes is equally important. For example, there is an emerging trend of valuing emotional intelligence and flexibility in the workplace, which is something anybody can work on, regardless of their current circle. So, in as much as connections help, breaking into a circle is still possible with hard work and by keeping up with trends and new opportunities.
