I woke up this morning with the realisation that I never did any pushups last night - I was that dog tired I never even gave them a second thought. Undeterred, I set about doing five sets of twelve in the hour after I got up. The first two sets were very laborious. The third got better then the fourth and fifth sets I was back into a satisfying rhythm.

I'm going to have to be more mindful that I don't miss any sets.

This has happened to me twice and what I do is that I add an additional set during the next days until I perform all the push-ups I missed, so instead of the 5 sets with 25 reps each, 6 days a week with 1 day to rest my muscles which is my current plan, I do 6 sets of 25 reps, 5 days a week with 2 days of rest.

At least me this is an adequate compromise, as there are days in which I am so busy that I cannot take a single moment to do those push-ups, and even if I had it, I may not be on the best disposition to exercise when I am so tired already.

Yeah having certain level of preparedness in terms of informing our our body, soul and spirit to become readily  enough for the pushups exercise definitely will awaken that vitality and the energy needed to perform your exercises, of course your performance level will be different when you are prepared and when you are not, it is good to have some rest as to regain energy.
